If your group is six to nine people, 9-seater car rental in Antalya can be simpler than it sounds. One vehicle instead of two cars or two taxis means one driver, one parking space and one plan for the whole group. Who needs a 9-seater (and who does not)

A 9-seater makes sense from six people up: two families travelling together, friends sharing a holiday, or one large family with children and all the kit that comes with them.

Keep one thing in mind: the nine seats include the driver’s. A group of nine means eight passengers and one person at the wheel.

For up to five people a regular car, such as a crossover or SUV, is enough and easier to park; our other cars seat five. From six people up, the two nine-seaters are the way to travel together in one vehicle. The search results show the price of every car for your dates, so you can compare.

Our two nine-seaters: Fiat Ulysse and Hyundai Staria

Two 9-seater minivans can be booked online. Both are automatic, both run on diesel and both seat nine people.

The Fiat Ulysse Automatic:

Choosing between them is a matter of taste. The Staria has the larger glass area and a reversing camera; the Ulysse has the long L3 body, sliding doors on both sides and cruise control.

Luggage: what really fits

Both vans are listed with room for 7 bags. That is generous for a van, but it is not nine large suitcases for nine people, and it is better to work that out at home than in the airport car park.

• Count your large bags first. The space is listed as seven bags, so treat seven as the limit.
• With a full van, some people usually bring a soft bag or a backpack instead of a large case. Soft bags squeeze into gaps that hard cases cannot.
• A pushchair or other family gear takes space too, so count it as luggage.
• If the group is big and the bags are bigger, ask us by phone or WhatsApp before you book.

Travelling with children? During booking you can add a baby seat (1–8 months), a child seat (1–3 years) or a booster seat (3+ years), up to three seats in total. If more than three children need a seat, ask us first.

Driver requirements

These two vans have their own rule: the driver must be at least 27 years old and have held a driving licence for at least 3 years. Our other cars start at 25 years and 2 years. An additional driver must meet the same conditions as the main one.

Driving a big van around Antalya

A long nine-seater takes a little getting used to. Both vans are automatic, so there is no clutch to manage in city traffic.

• Sliding doors mean the people in the back do not swing a door into the next car in a tight car park.
• Parking is hardest in Kaleiçi, along Konyaaltı beach and in the centre in summer. With a long van, head straight for a car park.
• Day trips often climb into the Taurus mountains. A fully loaded van is heavy, so leave more distance and brake earlier than you would in a small car.

Both run on diesel, and the car is returned with the same fuel level as at handover. • What if nobody in the group is 27? Then the 9-seaters are not an option, because their minimum age is 27. Our other cars have a minimum age of 25, but they seat five at most, so a group of six or more would need more than one car.
