Jeep and 4x4 hire: your questions
- Can I hire a four-wheel drive car?
- Yes, on request. We try to arrange four-wheel drive models such as the Dacia Duster 4x4 for your dates and, if one is available, quote you a price.
- Which car should I choose for a trip up to the highlands?
- If you're planning a highland trip, mention it when you book. We'll talk through your route and choose a suitable car with you.
- Can I hire a BMW X5?
- We'll check for you on request. If an X5 or a similar large SUV is available on your dates, we'll quote you a price, although no particular model can be promised.
- Do you take a deposit for SUVs and 4x4s?
- No. Whether it's an SUV, a 4x4 or an on-request vehicle, there's no deposit and no card hold.
- When do I pay?
- No charge is made at the time of booking. For SUVs booked online, you pay in cash or by card at pick-up; for monthly rentals, we agree the payment method together during the confirmation call, and for on-request vehicles the conditions are set out in the quote.
- What fuel level should I return the car with?
- Simply return it with the fuel level recorded when you picked it up.
- What are the age and licence requirements, and is a licence in Cyrillic script valid?
- Whether you book an SUV online or we arrange a 4x4 or large SUV for you on request, the driver must be at least 25 and have held a licence for at least 2 years. With a licence in Cyrillic or Arabic script, you need to bring an International Driving Permit as well; this isn't required for a licence in Latin script. At pick-up, you show your passport or ID card along with your licence.
- Can I change my booking?
- Changing the date and time before pick-up is free, subject to availability. Cancelling before you pick up the car is free too.
